We are excited to announce that our Proposed Design of Ceylon Vibes, one of our latest projects, has just been approved by our client! This new café and restaurant will bring the vibrant flavours of British and Sri Lankan cuisine to Scotland, with a prime location that’s perfect for attracting university students and locals alike.
The backbone of the design is industrial, showcasing exposed materials like concrete, steel, and brick, bringing a rugged, urban charm to the space. Modern exposed brick wall interior design adds a raw, unrefined feel, enhanced by high ceilings, large windows, and open floor plans. This style embraces imperfections, with rough textures and metallic finishes that evoke the atmosphere of old factories or urban lofts.
This design stands out for its seamless blend of Syrian elements, known for their beauty, craftsmanship, and deep cultural significance. Against the backdrop of sleek industrial surroundings, the intricate moucharabieh, crafted from CNC-cut material, adds a warm and intricate contrast to the stark steel and concrete.
The wall interiors have been meticulously curated, featuring handcrafted Syrian-inspired tilework, recreated in metal through precise 3D machining. These bold, geometric lattice patterns introduce an intriguing counterpoint to the worn, matte surfaces of the industrial space. The resulting interplay between the detailed metalwork and the minimalist industrial design creates a captivating visual harmony.
Finally, the restaurant lighting design is a true fusion of styles. While industrial lighting design is characterized by bare bulbs and utilitarian fixtures, we’ve complemented this with Syrian-inspired ornamental lamps. The combination of pendant lights and metallic fixtures creates a cozy atmosphere, casting warm, patterned shadows that evoke the glow of ancient Syrian marketplaces. This thoughtful layering of lighting enhances the overall ambiance and cultural depth of the space.
Together, these elements create a space that feels both modern and timeless, blending the raw elegance of industrial design with the rich heritage of Syrian craftsmanship, offering a truly unique dining experience.
